Day 2

Dhanushkodi Exploration

Wake up, freshen up, check out, and get ready for the new adventure.

📍Dhanushkodi ghost town: is a hauntingly beautiful ghost town with a rich blend of tragedy, mythology, and natural wonder. Once a bustling port town, it was devastated by a massive cyclone on December 22, 1964.

📍Dhanushkodi beach: The beach offers a striking view of the confluence of two seas, with the calm waters of the Bay of Bengal on one side and the deeper, rougher waters of the Indian Ocean on the other.

📍Ram Setu (Adam’s Bridge): is a natural chain of limestone shoals connecting Rameswaram in India to Mannar Island in Sri Lanka. According to Hindu mythology, it is the bridge built by Lord Rama’s army to reach Lanka.

📍Dhanushkodi Lighthouse: The Dhanushkodi Lighthouse, located near the ghost town of Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu, offers panoramic views of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. It's a serene yet historic spot, marking the resilience of a town once destroyed by a cyclone in 1964.

📍Dr. Abdul Kalam Memorial: Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial in Rameswaram honors India's 'Missile Man' with exhibits of his life, achievements, and contributions to science. The monument blends Mughal and Indian architecture, featuring a bronze statue, missile replicas, and a serene garden.

📍Pambam Bridge: The Pamban Bridge remains a popular tourist attraction, offering breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. Visitors can observe the intricate design and marvel at the engineering feat that has stood the test of time.

📍Ariyaman Beach for Sunset: This beach is famous for its breathtaking sunsets, as the sky shifts to shades of orange and pink while the sun sinks beneath the horizon. The soft waves and vast views of the Bay of Bengal add to the serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for unwinding and capturing beautiful photos.
